Yep. Why am I thinking of switching? Because WordPress it not so much a content management system as it is a blogging script, regardless of how much hacking you do. Don’t deny it. Textpattern is more about your content and less about how you want it to look. Basically, I feel it’s a great middle ground between the ultra-flexibility of Django and the super-rigidness of WordPress.

It’ll allow me to focus on design and content, and less on how exactly I can code my templates.

Yes, I know, this site still looks crappy with its default WordPress theme. I’ll get around to it, I promise! I’ve even got a design mocked up in Photoshop. I just need to find a free weekend (okay, so I guess this is never happening) to code the theme!

Speaking of which, this upcoming weekend will be my only free weekend until probably next year. Sad, isn’t it? Maybe I should find some time to do work after work. I mean, work on personal stuff after work. Because, you know, you gotta keep your work/life balance right? At least that’s what everybody seems to be saying at work these days…

So I decided to start blogging again. Hopefully my posts will be a lot more regular now that I live more-or-less a regular schedule.

Anyways, so the point of this blog is for me to keep track of my life (remember all the stuff I do) and for everybody else to keep track of my life (since I’m not in Texas anymore). I’ll just keep this one short, to minimize the boring-ness. How ironic.
